Cranks but won't start
The TFI ignition module on the distributor is the usual suspect on 5.0s. Also check the fuel pump relay under the driver's seat.
Overheating at idle
Make sure the clutch fan and shroud are intact, and consider a 180° thermostat.
Surging idle
Clean the IAC valve and throttle body, then hunt for vacuum leaks.
Dim or flickering headlights
Check the headlight switch and your engine grounds.
